Tinker Hatfield took a more aggressive approach for Michael Jordan's fifth signature shoe. After creating the masterpieces that were the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 4, Tinker blew expectations with the Air Jordan 5.
With its shark-like teeth on the midsole inspired by the P-51 Mustang fighter plane from World War II, its icy translucent outsole, and its all-reflective tongue elevated the Jordan line and pushed the boundaries of performance.
