Air Jordan 3 'Cardinal Red' is 30 Years in the Making

Air Jordan 3 'Cardinal Red' is 30 Years in the Making

In 1992, Jordan Brand released the seventh signature shoe for his Airness — the Air Jordan 7.

The successor of the Air Jordan 6 was minimal in nature yet transcendental. From its original colorways to iconic moments from Chicago to Barcelona, the Air Jordan 7 is etched in basketball history.

Three decades after the Aj7's original release, Jordan Brand is celebrating the shoe and its significance with a twist. Inspired by the OG Air Jordan 7 "Cardinal" colorway, the latest Air Jordan 3 iteration reinterprets the look.

The all-new Air Jordan 3 "Cardinal Red" utilizes the AJ7 as its muse with the light curry and cardinal red color combination with a white base, much like the '92 AJ7.  However, the addition of the Air Jordan 3's signature elephant print details prevail on the toe box, eyestays, and heel court — mirroring the colorblocking of the OG Air Jordan 3 "True Blue" from 1988.

The Air Jordan 3 "Cardinal Red" releases in-store on February 19 for $200 on a first-come, first-serve basis at our Uptown Plaza location.
